Family at home together, representing the importance of financial protection planning

Protecting your wealth

The most important financial decision you make for your family might be the one you keep putting off.

Could you and your family maintain the same standard of living if you were unable to work?

If the worst happened, would the right things be in place? Is your current cover actually enough, or just what you vaguely remember setting up years ago?

These are the questions most people avoid. We ask them every time.

Most people are underinsured. Many don’t find out until it’s too late.

It’s easy to assume the cover you have is fine, or that you’ll sort it out properly one day. But a serious illness, an accident, or an unexpected death doesn’t just cause grief. It can cause real financial hardship for the people left behind. The last thing your family should be dealing with at the worst moment of their lives is a money problem.

Financial advisor discussing protection planning with a couple

Don't just take our word for it

Over 50 five-star Google reviews. Here's what our clients say.

"Moved my pension for Mike to manage several years ago and it has performed brilliantly thanks to his decisions. Mike's communication and service is second to none. I recommend everyone to get in touch with him and his team. "

"We’ve been using Chameleon Financial Planning to manage our pensions and general finances, and the experience has been fantastic. Every member of staff is incredibly helpful and professional, but a special mention has to go to Mike, who has been brilliant. It’s a huge relief to know our future is in such capable hands. Highly recommended!"
Michelle Riley
"Put off speaking to a financial advisor for far too long. Was given Chameleon's contact details and took that step towards getting help. The process was easy. Everything was clearly explained, no pressure, worked to my timetable, reassuring throughout and happy with the results. Would highly recommend. Everyone is so helpful and professional."
Growth Lancashire
"Mike has been advising us for some years now and has always shown care and interest in our finances. The reviews we have are regular and explained in a very understanding way. I would recommend Chameleon Financial planning based on our experience so far. We are very happy."

How we work with you

Here's exactly what working with us looks like.

Discovery

We meet to understand your situation, your current financial position, your goals, and your attitude to risk. We explain our services and how we charge. This stage is always at our expense.

Strategy

Once we have everything we need, we build your bespoke financial strategy report. This includes a lifetime cash flow model of your estate, a clear picture of your financial future, year by year.

Recommendations

We arrange a meeting to present our recommendations in detail. We treat every client as we would our own family, explaining everything in plain English.

Track

Once recommendations are in place, we set you up on your Personal Financial Folder (PFF) and/or Personal Financial Portal (PFP) so you can see your financial picture at any time.

Review

We meet regularly to review your plan, check you’re on track, and make adjustments as your life or circumstances change.

How we help you protect what matters most

We work out what you actually need based on your income, your commitments, and your family, then make sure the right cover is in place at the right cost.

Protection planning isn’t about selling policies. It’s about working out what you actually need: income, mortgage, commitments, family. Then making sure the right cover is in place, at the right cost.

We’re an insurance intermediary. We act on your behalf and search the market for cover that suits your situation. Not what’s easiest to arrange, not what pays the highest commission. What’s right for you.

Most clients aren’t sure if their policies need to be written in trust. They don’t know what terms they need, or whether their level of cover reflects a real need. We go through all of it, because the detail matters when it comes to making a claim.

A policy that pays out in the right way, to the right people, at the right time, is worth considerably more than one that doesn’t. Trust arrangements, policy terms, and cover levels aren’t small print. They’re the whole point.

  • Life assurance (lump sum or family income benefit)
  • Critical illness cover
  • Income protection
  • Mortgage protection
  • Whole of life plans
  • Trust arrangements so benefits reach the right people efficiently
  • Reviewing existing policies to check they still do what you need

For business owners, protection has its own considerations: Relevant Life policies, Key Person cover, Shareholder Protection, Executive Income Protection. These are covered on our business financial planning page.

  • A clear picture of what you’re covered for and where the gaps are
  • A recommendation report explaining exactly what we’re putting in place and why
  • Trust arrangements sorted where needed, so benefits reach the right people without delay
  • Policy terms explained in plain English, not industry jargon
  • An ongoing review so if your circumstances change, your cover changes with them

You'll work with one advisor. Who knows your full picture.

Protection planning is personal. It involves your income, your health, your mortgage, your family. Your advisor needs to understand all of it, not just the products. At Chameleon, you work with the same person throughout, someone who knows your situation and can tell you honestly whether what you have is still right, or whether something needs to change.

Life Assurance plans typically have no cash in value at any time and cover will cease at the end of term. If premiums stop, then cover will lapse.
